Blanche Manor

Envision the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains where you can saddle up to canter through a shady forest trail laced with mountain laurel in bloom or relax as your horse drinks from a cool mountain stream as it cascades into a hundred littlewaterfalls. My name is Peggy Blanche, and after over two decades of competing and training numerous horses and riders to world championship titles I was ready to break away from the stressful life of non-stop showing and traveling and find just such an oasis.

From the moment you arrive at Blanche Manor you will realize that I have created just such a haven, a place that is a lttle different from any stable you have ever visited, I hope a little better! You will be greeted by my enthusiastic and professional guides - Andrea, Mary, and Jessica and will immediately realize why they are one of the main reasons our customers return year after year. My horses, which become more like my children, are selected with the same trained eye and scrutiny that I used to select a future champion. With these high standards, you can rest assured that they all have exceptionally kind dispositions, are well trained and responsive to commands, and of course, are beautiful and in top physical condition. With outstanding animals such as these, the small child or tentative adult on their first ride can go for a leisurely stroll, or the seasoned veteran can saddle up to really put their mount through its paces.

Whatever your experience or expectations are, we have the horse that will be perfect for your excursion into the wilderness. A day spent with us will have you, your friends, and family coming back for years to come. Please view our pictures to catch a glimpse of what awaits you on your mountain escape, and then call me to reserve your adventure at 423.496.1060 or 706.455.7433.

Double D Trail Rides

Throughout Blue Ridge the Double ‘D’ is better known as Dave and Dave. They are recognized by their friendly smiles and colorful personalities.

David Haley and David Butler began Double ‘D’ Trail Rides in 1997. They are permitted outfitters and guides, and with cooperation from The National Forest Service, have created a trail riding system that is second to none.

Dave and Dave have over 50 years of combined equestrian experience and have ridden in National Forests all over the country including, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Tennessee, and their home state of Georgia.

This experience helped form their philosophy and concepts in developing a trail riding facility that elevates horseback riding to a true riding adventure and experience. David Butler retired in 2007, and Double ‘D’ is now owned and operated by David Haley and his wife Liz.

In 2008, Dave and Liz built a new facility to house Double ‘D’ Trail Rides. Nestled in a valley beneath the Cohutta Mountains, the scenery surrounding the Double ‘D’ is absolutely awesome.
