The Cherohala Skyway is one of only 96 designated National Scenic Byways. That’s an average of 28.9 curves every mile. Approximate Mileage: 102.4 miles The U.S. Forest Service has produced a daytrip driving tour through the Chattahoochee National forest and surrounding countryside beginning in Morganton, traveling GA Highway 60 through Suches to Dahlonega. From Dahlonega the route takes Highway 52 west to Amicalola Falls State Park and Ellijay. Sights include expansive views of beautiful rural valleys all year and stunning displays of colorful foliage in the fall.
